J. Phillip Tavernier received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Florida and has a myriad of experiences in community organizing, entertainment, education, and politics. He’s worked along side artists and scholars alike including: Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Dr. Maulauna Keranga, and Jay Z. However, it is his work with families and young people that drive his purpose.
He joined joined the NDYFC family in 2013 to serve as a Care Coordinator under The Children’s Trust funded Youth Violence & Prevention Coalition Service Partnership. In addition to coordinating services for children and families, Mr. Tavernier is also responsible to bring fathers into the educational process with their children. Mr. Tavernier is a founding father of The Fatherhood Taskforce of South Florida. He speaks fluent French, Creole.
